1. Who We Are

Golazo WC26 (“we”, “the service”) is operated by an individual as a hobby project. For privacy enquiries, contact: huw@dragondrop.uk .

2. Information We Collect

We collect only the information necessary to operate the service:

• Account information — your email address and a display name chosen by you, provided when you register.
• Game data — the match score predictions you submit and any banker selections you make.
• Usage data — standard web server logs (IP address, browser type, pages visited, timestamps). These are retained for a short period for security and debugging purposes only.

We do not collect payment details, precise location data, or any sensitive personal data.

3. How We Use Your Information

Your information is used solely to:

• create and authenticate your account;
• record and display your predictions and scores;
• operate league standings and leaderboards;
• send essential account emails (e.g. password reset);
• monitor for abuse and maintain service security.

We do not sell, rent, or share your personal data with third parties for marketing purposes.

4. Legal Basis for Processing (UK/EU Users)

Where the UK GDPR or EU GDPR applies, we process your data on the basis of contract (to provide the service you signed up for) and legitimate interests (service security and fraud prevention).

5. Data Retention

Your account and associated game data are retained for the duration of the World Cup 2026 tournament and a reasonable period afterwards. If you request deletion of your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where we are required to retain it for legal purposes.

6. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal data. To exercise these rights, email huw@dragondrop.uk . We will respond within 30 days.

If you are in the UK or EU and believe we have not handled your data appropriately, you have the right to lodge a complaint with your local supervisory authority (in the UK: the Information Commissioner’s Office).

7. Security

We take reasonable technical measures to protect your data, including encrypted connections (HTTPS) and hashed password storage. No method of transmission over the internet is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. Cookies

We use a single session cookie to keep you logged in. No third-party tracking or advertising cookies are used.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Any material changes will be noted by updating the “Last updated” date above. Continued use of the service constitutes acceptance of the updated policy.

By creating an account or using Golazo WC26 (the “Service”), you agree to these Terms of Play. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Eligibility

This Service is free to use by people of any age. If you are under 18, you must have the permission and knowledge of a parent or guardian, who should monitor your use of the Service. By registering on behalf of a minor, a parent or guardian confirms they are aware of and consent to their child’s participation.

3. Nature of the Service

Golazo WC26 is a free-to-play prediction game for entertainment purposes only. It does not involve wagering or gambling for money operated by us. Any prize pools organised within private leagues are arranged entirely between league members and are not operated, managed, or guaranteed by us.

4. Your Account

• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure.
• You must not share your account or allow others to submit predictions on your behalf.
• You may only hold one account. Duplicate accounts may be removed without notice.
• You agree to provide accurate information when registering and to keep it up to date.

5. Fair Play

You agree not to:

• use bots, scripts, or automated tools to submit or modify predictions;
• attempt to manipulate the scoring system or exploit bugs for competitive advantage (please report any bugs you discover);
• harass, abuse, or threaten other users in league names, display names, or any other in-game text fields.

6. Predictions and Scoring

Predictions lock automatically at the kick-off time of each match. We are not responsible for predictions that were not submitted before the deadline. Scores are calculated based on the official full-time result. We reserve the right to correct scoring errors; however, no financial compensation will be provided for any errors or system downtime.

7. Intellectual Property

The Service and its original content (excluding team names, tournament branding, and other third-party marks) are the property of the creator. FIFA, World Cup, and related marks are the property of their respective owners. This Service is not affiliated with or endorsed by FIFA or any national football association.

8. Termination

We may suspend or terminate your account at any time for breach of these terms or for any other reason at our sole discretion. We may also suspend or shut down the Service entirely at any time, including if the costs of operation become unsustainable, without liability to you.

9. Disclaimer of Warranties

The Service is provided “as is” and “as available” without warranty of any kind. We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that scores and standings will always be up to date.

10. Limitation of Liability

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, the creator shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or in connection with your use of, or inability to use, the Service.

11. Governing Law

These terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

12. Changes to These Terms

We may update these terms at any time. Continued use of the Service after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.
